Nord Ferro AB: "I buy laziness from Accountor"
As a steel distributor, Nord Ferro AB has other things to think about than accounting. That's why they chose to bring in Accountor when they founded the company. As Nord Ferro AB has grown - so has their need for financial services.
When an offer comes along that you can't refuse
Nord Ferro AB is an exclusive distributor of Italian steel to the construction industry, operating in Scandinavia. Based in Stockholm, the company is run by Managing Director, John C Lindblom, and Chief Operating Officer, Christian Denuit, who originally come from two completely different backgrounds. Christian was formerly employed by a forestry company and John was sales director for a steel wholesaler in Finland - but then an opportunity arose that they couldn't turn down.
"We managed to negotiate a deal with an Italian steel mill to become their exclusive steel distributor. We felt it was a once in a lifetime-opportunity if we wanted to start our own business, so we went for it. At the beginning it was tough, but today it looks different and now the company is doing great. There's also no getting away from the fact that steel prices have doubled in the last year, which of course has benefited us enormously."
Collaboration via Accountor Online and Procountor
Nord Ferro AB has been an Accountor customer since they founded their company in 2016. John C Lindblom explains how it came to be Accountor:
"I was already familiar with Accountor, but I also got a good reference from one of our service partners who said that the collaboration worked perfectly."
Accountor has taken care of all Nord Ferro's bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and more since day one. Nord Ferro AB is also an Accountor Online customer, which means that they have a personal accountant but also access to the Procountor software, something John appreciates.
"I only use a fraction of all the functions available in Procountor, but the program is easy to work in, and it's so nice that all the bookkeeping is there and that all invoices come into the system automatically. A cooperation that extends across national borders."
A collaboration across national borders
The agreement has grown over the years and today Nord Ferro AB cooperates with Accountor in both Sweden and Finland, as John is a Finnish citizen and works half the time in Finland. Usually it is Accountor's accountant Min Bohman who handles the bookkeeping in Sweden, but due to Finnish tax regulations and tax returns, John also has a dedicated person at Accountor legal services in Turku. John appreciates the cooperation with both his contact persons, and finds that communication is always smooth.
"Accountor keeps up to date, and when something is going on you always get a heads up. For me, accounting is something that just has to work - I want to concentrate on doing business. You could say I buy laziness from Accountor, and it works really well."
With the growth of the company, the need for legal services has also arisen. In 2021, new Finnish tax regulations were introduced, which the tax experts in Finland helped with, and here Accountor's ability to keep up with developments proved very valuable.
"Here I really have to thank Accountor in Finland for informing me about the new Finnish legislation. Accountor Legal suggested that I submit papers in advance instead of waiting for the taxman's decision. It went well and now everything is approved so I am very happy!"
