Farmer sense & expertise help Örebro University Holding with its accounting
With a vision of creating benefits to society, Örebro University Holding helps researchers and students get in touch with the business community - and vice versa. They thus operate in both public and private activities, which places high demands on their accounting. Therefore, since 2018, they have been taking accounting help from Accountor.
Örebro University's holding company ensures that the university's innovations and expertise benefit society. Among other things, they contribute knowledge and innovation development, but also help with more practical details such as contracts, invoicing and salary payments.
- Government accounting works quite differently from the accounting of a limited company, and it can be difficult to find an economist who has knowledge in both areas. That's why it's so nice that we have both Kamilla Aldrin and Jenny Wirf from Accountor who are experts," says Kristina Andersson, financial administrator at Örebro University Holding.
From invoices to Fortnox issues
Kristina receives ongoing help from Jenny from Accountor with invoices, salaries, postings, re-postings, financial statements, and creating monthly reports - but also regarding issues related to their digital financial system. The ability to simplify and make complicated things understandable for a layman is something Kristina appreciates more than anything.
"I don't have a background in finance myself, so there's almost always a question that comes up about functions in Fortnox, for example. Even though I probably formulate my questions in a way that makes someone working in finance laugh, they always answer in a language that I understand. No question is too stupid for Accountor, and it is so nice to feel that way.
The answers also come quickly, even if there is not always a direct solution. The quick feedback is one of the advantages of having a larger accounting firm compared to having your own financially responsible in-house, says Kristina.
- "There is always someone who can respond, even if Jenny is ill. I never have to sit and wonder if my email has really arrived.
The feeling of local proximity - despite distance
Accountor has offices in ten locations in Sweden and one of them is in Karlskoga, just four miles from Örebro University. Although Kristina has only been to Accountor's office once since she started at Örebro University Holding, the distance still gives her a sense of security.
- "It feels mentally good to have Accountor so close. That way, my reconciliations with Jenny still take place at a distance because we hear from each other almost every week. Despite the distance, it feels like we have a personal contact. Of course, things can go wrong sometimes, but we always have a good tone and help each other. Maybe it's the farmer sense?
