Scius Pharma Support gets help to manage finances - on its own

Fredrik Niklassons runs the consultancy Scius Pharma Support and his ambition is to do as much of the bookkeeping as possible himself. Since 2016, he has had accounting help from Accountor - which today has become both necessary and irreplaceable.

Scius Pharma Support helps pharmaceutical companies in the Öresund region with challenges in chemistry, manufacturing, and control. Fredrik Niklasson, who runs the company, has been an Accountor customer for a long time, starting with a company called Matrisen, which was then acquired by Accountor. Fredrik chose to continue because of how well it worked.

"I shared an office with them in Medicon Village in Lund, and it was so easy to have someone close to whom I could ask for advice in the coffee room. I was quite a new start-up at the time and felt safe with that proximity. Finance is an area I don't know much about," says Fredrik Niklasson, CEO of Scius Pharma Support.

An extra quality check of the finances

Since Scius Pharma Support is a one-person business, the bookkeeping is quite simple. There is no need for an annual audit and Fredrik handles the invoicing himself. What he needs help with is mainly employer declarations, accounting, and checking that everything looks correct for declarations and annual reports.

"I try to make it as simple as possible so that I can keep track of things myself. Having Accountor is like a kind of quality check for me - a pair of extra eyes that can review what I do," says Fredrik Niklasson.

Accountor has made Fredrik more independent

Fredrik's primary contact at Accountor is Malin Nordfjäll, who has been his contact ever since he started the collaboration. At the beginning of the year, Malin usually gets in touch and they go through what needs to be reviewed. In March-April the actual work is done, and by June everything should be ready.

"In the beginning, I had more personal contact with the person who did the job, then I learned more about financial management myself. In a way, you could say that Malin helped me to become more self-reliant. But I definitely would not have managed without Accountor, in that case I would have needed to get help from someone else", says Fredrik Niklasson.
