G2 Ocean is a joint venture between two of the world’s largest open hatch shipowning companies, Gearbulk and Grieg Maritime Group. It operates a fleet of over 100 bulk vessels, carrying commodities such as wood pulp and other forest products, aluminium, steel, granite and industrial minerals. With 300 employees, G2 Ocean’s operations cover 32 trade routes around the world.
Accountor has been working with G2 Ocean in Sweden for a long time. Since 2019 we have also been assisting their local office in Rotterdam. As Ronald de Jong, director and stowage advisor for G2 Ocean in Europe, explains, ‘Our bookkeeper had stopped and we wanted to take the opportunity to restructure our bookkeeping. Our office in Sweden put us in touch with Accountor in Nieuwegein.’

Accountor is helping G2 Ocean Netherlands to reorganize its bookkeeping. ‘Once that’s finished, we want to have our day-to-day accounting done in Manila. Because we’re pleased with how Accountor has handled things in the Netherlands, we’ve asked them to help us with this next phase,’ says De Jong. Accountor’s Dutch office is also advising the ship operators and providing help with practical matters such as VAT returns, preparing annual financial statements and corporate tax returns and checking accounting entries.
