Etteplan's HR Director appreciates the ease of Accountor's HR services

The importance of continuous renewal and the development of new operating models is emphasised in the human resource management of organisations operating in a global environment. This is also the case at Etteplan, a global engineering company. "Our personnel move around the world for assignments," says Minna Tornikoski, Etteplan's HR Director. "To ensure that our operations are agile regardless of location, it is important that we manage our processes well from both the customer and personnel perspective."

When HR Director Tornikoski started to renew the operating models of a global organization, her priority was to ensure that the operating models are transferred from words to actions and into the everyday life of every employee. She asked the help of Accountor's interim HR experts. "We had a very specific challenge within the organization when we needed to create a new operating model and train supervisors to use the created operating models," the experienced HR Director describes the early stages of cooperation with Accountor.

Accountor's expert Anni Alamettälä came to promote the development project of new operating models. "Anni supported me and the HR team part-time for eight months. During that time, we modelled a new process, built a partnership network and sorted out the intricacies of legislation to make it easy to move people globally."

"Our customers value our operations more and thank us for the reform."

"We take care of our people in every corner of the world."

Etteplan's HR work focuses on ensuring responsibility, safety, and the employee well-being. "Our people have been moving throughout the coronavirus pandemic, albeit on a smaller scale. The pandemic is a global risk that we also had to be able to address. It is important for us to take care of our personnel, wherever they are in the world, and, if necessary, to be able to act also in crisis situations," says Minna Tornikoski, HR Director, describing the past exceptional year.

Cost savings and many practical benefits

"I am very pleased that we got a young consultant who boldly took things forward, quickly took her place in the team, acted as a link between us and the outside world and produced extremely good material for our use," HR Director Tornikoski praises.

"The most important thing is that the tools created remained alive in everyday life. We achieved cost savings, and thanks to successful cooperation, we have better tools to avoid risks. The more we identify in advance the order in which things need to be done, the faster and better we will partner with our customers."

Etteplan has experience of successful foresight: the company anticipated the needs of its customers by being the first Nordic engineering company to establish an office in China.

"Thanks to our cooperation with Accountor, we are now faster and of higher quality."

When new operating models are developed in a global operating environment, flexibility and speed are an asset

"Trust in Accountor as a partner was built quickly. The communication is effective and you can talk about things directly. Listening to the customer is emphasized in the cooperation. We got a young consultant for the project, who has proven to be very capable of networking and operating in the world we need," says Minna Tornikoski, Etteplan's HR Director, praising the cooperation with Accountor.

"The most important thing in successful cooperation is ease. No matter how skilled and experienced a consultant is, but if you don't have the ability to listen, the ease may disappear and cooperation no longer works. I value flexibility and cost-effective operating model, and this is what Accountor offered us," Minna Tornikoski sums up the important elements of successful cooperation.
