B. Braun Medical Oy has trusted Accountor's diverse HR services for over 10 years
Changing needs require flexible service
In an international organisation, it is important that human resources work and management are consistent and fair, regardless of the country. The cooperation between the world-leading healthcare company B. Braun Medical Oy and Accountor began more than ten years ago when the company wanted to harmonise its HR practices.
Over the years, the everyday life of B. Braun Medical Oy's employees and supervisors has been streamlined with Accountor's recruitment service, interim HR service and employment law advice.
The interim HR service has been running 1-2 days a week throughout the cooperation. Accountor's consultant has worked as HR Director, where she has developed and strengthened the handling of employment matters and guidelines. She has also supported supervisors in applying practices and coached them in everyday situations. Even today, the cooperation continues flexibly according to the needs of B. Braun Medical Oy's business development.
A strong foundation makes it easy to aim for ever better
At the beginning of the cooperation, the foundation of HR work in the over 180-year-old company’s Finnish subsidiary matched the standards of the international group. The strong groundwork done in the company was harnessed to develop functional frameworks to further raise the level of HR operations.
According to Mia Eklund, CEO of B. Braun Medical Oy, the cooperation has significantly improved the daily lives of the personnel through various development projects.
"The impact of the cooperation has been visible, first of all, in the fact that we have always kept up to date with what is happening in HR management. We have created good functional frameworks. The cooperation has also been reflected in the fact that we have been able to carry out development projects successfully. The entire personnel knows that support is available, and we systematically develop our operations," says Eklund.
Some of the projects have arisen from the Finnish organisation's own needs, while others, especially in recent years, have been more broadly global group practices that have been introduced to support everyday work also in Finland.
"We currently have many global projects related to digitalization underway, and Accountor's expert is also there to support our Nordic colleagues. I can brainstorm with her on many things. She has a good amount of insight, and she is direct in a good way when needed. She always follows through with things without hesitation. Our supervisors know that they will receive support from her even in challenging situations. If necessary, we can get advice on employment law, for example," the CEO praises the cooperation.
At B. Braun Medical Oy, most of the work is done in teams. Teamwork has been developed together using a tool that describes a natural way of working, taking into account and appreciating people's differences. Over the years, the company has also acquired experts from different areas with the help of Accountor's recruitment service. A competent partner who knows B. Braun's operations has been useful both as an additional resource and as a recruitment professional and sparring partner.
"We have received professional HR support from different areas when we have needed it. Communication has worked and we have been listened to. Accountor has responded well to our expectations, actively offering solutions to our changed needs along the way," Eklund says.
B. Braun Medical Oy is an over 180-year-old German family-owned company, one of the largest private companies and the world's leading healthcare company. Its product range includes about 5,000 products, of which the company manufactures 95% itself. The Finnish subsidiary, which has operated for more than 50 years, employs more than 50 professionals in the field.
