Outplacement support turns job loss into an opportunity
Finnish law and the concept of ‘transition assistance’
organisations that regularly employ at least 30 people to facilitate the career prospects of people who are let go due to financial or production-related reasons if these people have been continuously employed by the organisation for at least five years when their contract ends.
The law was amended as of the beginning of 2023 to also include in the scope of the transition assistance system people aged 55 years and over who are let go due to financial or production-related reasons and who have been employed by the same organisation for at least five years. The transition assistance system is made up of a transition allowance and career coaching.
For more information about the law on transition assistance, see Employment Contracts Act, Act Amending the Unemployment Security Act, Act Amending the Act on Public Employment and Business Services and Act Amending the Act on the Financing of Unemployment Benefits.
Outplacement support boosts job hunting skills
Our outplacement support programmes are always custom-built according to the circumstances and needs of the affected individuals and delivered in a compassionate manner. Our experienced coaches support the participants through the transition and are available to them throughout the process.
Our outplacement support programmes can be delivered in a group setting, on a one-on-one basis or as a combination of the above.
What happens on an outplacement support programme
- We have developed a versatile online learning environment that participants will be able to access 24/7 during the programme as well as for three months afterwards.
- We employ a variety of behavioural and self-awareness analyses and coaching techniques.
- Our programmes focus on building confidence and sharing job hunting tips about, for example, video interviews, LinkedIn profiles and unadvertised jobs, as well as engaging participants in deeper conversations about the future direction of their career path.
